My Life By Mellow

Animal Planet is my favorite channel, I love the dog training shows-stupid dogs, you wont ever see a cat training show, because we are perfect already!! Rachel took a picture of me watching Americas Funniest Animals thats another silly show, you wont ever catch me doing anything silly enough to get me on TV!

Rachel was pestering me with her camera, so reluctantly I posed for her, admitidly I wasn’t taking it seriously and I kept puling funny faces, she did give up after a while

This morning when I woke up I had lots of energy and I wanted to play, Rachel played for a bit but I got a bit over excited chasing my toy and I smacked into the living room table, after that I was a bit more cautious.

Rachel stopped playing before I was ready, and I even brought her two more toys form the closet, but she didn’t play any more with me, so I thought I may as well lay down and sleep. Its dark and rainy outside so on days like this sleep comes easy.

Well I really dont understand Rachel, this morning she got in the huge waterbowl and filled it with water and white bubbles, I have never seen anything so strange before, she lay in it and seemed to relax for a while, I looked in it a few times and even put my paw in it, but it was rather scary!

I normally sit in the big water bowl and wait for her to turn on the tap so I can drink from the silver hole in the bottom, but there was no way I was going to get to close to it when it was full of water!

So I was talking to the birds yesterday and Rachel came at me with the camera, it was quite distracting, and I wasn’t able to talk bird language as well as I normally can, but you may enjoy listening to me, listen closely at the beginning.

Rachel came home smelling of other cats today, I always think she smells so interesting when she gets back from her volunteering at the cat shelter, the smell of the other cats has be quite curious but there are other smells that remind me of how horrible it was to live in a cage.

I spent most of today relaxing on the bed, I love it when I get it all to myself, it is lovely to stretch out and not have to worry about anyone accidentally kicking me or pushing me off the bed.

Rachel took a ‘power nap’ thisafternoon, I really didnt want her to sleep as I missed her, I wanted her to play with me, so when she was laying down I used my head to push into her face and my paw to hit her on the nose, if I do this enough she will give me her hand to rub on and pet me. She must have been tiered because she fell asleep trying to rub my face!

This afternoon Rachel had a nap, I followed her in there, and she pet me for a nice long time before falling asleep. She fell asleep in my favourite position, on her side with her knees bent up, this is a good position because I can curl up and lean against her in between her knees and chest, its such a warm place to sleep.
I don’t like sleeping that close to her or Will if they are both in the bed, I get scared that they will squash me, so if I sleep with them both I lay by Rachels feet, she will often sleep slightly diagonal which gives me lots of room.

This morning when Rachel got up I really wanted to play, I followed her around and kept asking her, she just kept saying she didn’t understand me, but I know what I was saying was obvious.
She sat down at her computer and was typing for ages so I ran around pouncing on anything I saw, eventually she got up and grabbed my wand toy from the closest, when she pulled it out she attached a different toy to the end of it, I didn’t like it at all. I went and got my crinkly toy and brought it to her, she attached that to it instead and I ran after it while it was moving.
After that small bit of exercise I decided it was time for a nap, Rachel must have sneaked out while I was sleeping because when I woke up the apartment was silent, I waited by the door for her to return, and as soon as I heard her key in the door I meowed telling her that she shouldn’t have left me!

I love using my scratch post, nothing feels better when I first wake up than walking to my scratch post putting my front feet up on top of it and stretching against it, after a nice long stretch I dig my claws in and scratch really really hard. My post started to look very tatty and a lot of the carpet was missing, even when I try and be soft with my post to make it last longer bits still fall off of it.

Will and Rachel went out yesterday afternoon and when they came back they brought home a new scratch post, it looks the same as the old one, I tried it out straight away, it felt good to have one with lots of new carpet on it. Rachel told me one day she will get me a huge one, with places for me to perch on top of, but as they are expensive she wants to wait a while.

Today I slept late, I didn’t hear Wills alarm go off this morning so he must have turned it off very quickly, he usually gets up when it goes off and I run up to tell him that I missed him being awake, he always tells me to be quiet because Rachel is still sleeping.

When I finally woke up, it was light and Will was still in bed, I knew that its a work day so I jumped on the bed and gently purred in his face to remind him he should get up, he shook the water bottle at me so I ran away quickly, I didnt want to get squirted!

Eventually Will got up and left, I think he may have been late to work, if he had listened to me when I tried to wake him up, he would have been on time, maybe he would have been early, and I know its always good to be early.

I like to wake Rachel up about forty minutes before her alarm goes off, that way she is fully awake by the time she gets up. While she was laying in bed this morning I was trying to get my wand toy out of the closet and on to the bed so she would play with me, but it got stuck on Wills sweater that he left on the floor, I tried to use my paw to move the sweater, but my toy was stuck hard. Eventually Rachel realised what I was trying to do and reached down and grabbed the wand part of the toy and waved it around for me to chase. I love the noise it makes as it flies through the air, it gets my heart racing.

After a short time of chasing my toy, she stopped and dosed off to sleep again, I couldn’t let this happen so I reached over to her face and prodded her on the nose, after the 5th time she rolled over and put the covers over her head, I hate this because I can never find her, I even try and dig through the covers, but they are just to thick to get through. I gave up and lay down by her feet and waited for her alarm to go off.
